STOP ANALYSIS:
It is important to effective fleet management to know not only where the vehicles presently are and the route taken but also to identify where they have been and how long they remain at each place. STOP ANALYSIS references locations in the tracking system as identified stopping points for fleet vehicles. These stopping points can be customers, fueling depots, shipping destinations, garage, etc. STOP ANALYSIS will generate reports that show the sequence of stops, the name given to the stop, the arrival time and departure time and the duration of time each vehicle spent at each stop. Analysis can be done not only by vehicle but also by stop. Detailed reports can be generated that show which vehicles visited a stop over a given time range. This data can be exported for integration with costing, payroll and billing applications.

TRAKIT Nationwide

TRAKIT NATIONWIDE is a GPS AVL tracking system that provides wide-area coverage (virtually all of North America ) at an exceptionally low cost. Location information is captured in the vehicle and transmitted over the GPRS communications network to the GLOBAL TRAKIT DATA CENTER.  Access to this data is provided by internet BROWSER ACCESS, MOBILE MANAGER SMS text messaging and WAP internet access and the WEB-CLIENT software.

Global TRAKIT Data Center
The GTDC (GLOBAL TRAKIT DATA CENTER) is a data processing facility located at IDA Corporation International Headquarters in Fargo, North Dakota. The GTDC serves as the data gateway for many applications including GPS AVL tracking, wireless emergency alert systems and construction equipment data acquisition. Data is received from numerous infrastructures including radio and GPRS. Access to the data is provided by internet BROWSER ACCESS, WEB-CLIENT software, cellular SMS text messaging, and cellular WAP internet access.

General Packet Radio Service
GPRS is a means of wireless data communications technology using the GSM digital cellular networks throughout the country. GPRS provides a communications infrastructure for economical, nationwide GPS tracking of mobile assets. Not restricted by geographic limitations of any specific cellular carrier, vehicles or equipment units can be tracked anywhere in North America .

Time Interval
Each VEHICLE UNIT is programmed to one of several plans:

  • GEO- No regular time interval reporting occurs. The unit can be QUERIED to obtain the current location .
  • DAILY- A location transmission occurs once per day when movement is determined. The unit can be QUERIED to obtain the current location.
  • HOURLY- A location transmission occurs once per hour when movement is determined. The unit can be QUERIED to obtain the current location.
  • QUARTER HOUR- A location transmission occurs once every 15 minutes when movement is determined. The unit can be QUERIED to obtain the current location.

Event Emergency
An input on the VEHICLE UNIT senses a 12V circuit closure to generate a special location transmission to the GLOBAL TRAKIT DATA CENTER. Any 12V closure sensor is acceptable including the EMERGENCY/STATUS BOX. An EVENT/EMERGENCY transmission can prompt alert messages to be sent to email addresses and SMS cellular phones.

Start/Stop
An input on the VEHICLE UNIT senses 12V high, 12V low for capturing of stop records. Most often the connection is made to an ignition-on, ignition-off point on the fuse block of the vehicle. These records sometimes referred to as arrival and departure records are used by STOP ANALYSIS in the WEB-CLIENT and MOBILE MANAGER.

Query
In normal TRAKIT NATIONWIDE operations, the location shown will be the last-reported location for the vehicle. Query will allow an authorized person to send out a request for the current location of the vehicle. This process can take several minutes to accomplish. There is an additional TRAKIT NATIONWIDE cost for queries.

Alert Settings
The settings programmed into the system will determine when EVENT/EMERGENCY and START/STOP transmissions will generate alert messages to email addresses and SMS cellular phones. Settings can be input and changed with the BROWSER ACCESS, WEB-CLIENT, cellular phone WAP internet access, or cellular phone SMS text messaging. Vehicles can be independently set or settings can apply to the entire fleet.

  • ON ALWAYS - When this setting is selected all START/STOP and EVENT/EMERGENCY alerts are broadcast to email addresses and cellular phones in the directory.
  • ON TIME - You can set a time range in the system during which you desire a START/STOP or EVENT/EMERGENCY event to trigger an alert message to be generated. When the MOBILE MANAGER setting is ON TIME only alerts taking place within the time range will cause alert messages to be sent to emails addresses or cellular phones in the directory.
  • OFF - When the ALERT SETTING is set to OFF no alert messages are generated.

SMS Text Messaging
Today nearly all of the cellular phones, from virtually any carrier, have SMS (Short Message System) text messaging capability. SMS provides the ability to send and receive text messages on cellular phones. Messages can be exchanged between cellular phones and also sent to standard internet email addresses. Messages can be sent from cellular phones to internet email addresses as well as received from common internet email sources.

MOBILE MANAGER processes coded SMS messages to return vehicle tracking or system configuration information. An SMS message is addressed to the GLOBAL TRAKIT DATA CENTER (GTDC@trackidaco.com). This address can be pre-programmed in the directory of the cellular phone. Coded messages determine the information being requested. To assure that the setting change was processed, a text message is received by the cellular phone with the requested information or confirmation of the setting desired.
